JACK KENT COOKE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS ATTENDING IOWA LAKES
COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Students at
Iowa Lakes Community College who are looking at transferring to
a four-year institution upon graduation may want to apply for a
scholarship which is open only to community college students.
The Jack Kent
Cooke Foundation has opened the nomination process for
scholarships available to students and recent alumni from
community colleges. Through the initiative, entitled the
Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program, this private
foundation will award up to $30,000 annually per recipient to
help students and recent alumni from community colleges pursue
four-year degrees at any accredited college or university in the
United States or abroad.
Through the
program, the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation plans to award
approximately 50 scholarships in spring 2008. It will renew
awards each year based upon student performance. Current
students are eligible, as are alumni who earned a degree from a
community or two-year institution since May 2002 and have not
yet transferred to a four-year college. All candidates for the
scholarship must be nominated by the college’s representative.
Application deadline is January 15, 2008, as all nominations
from Iowa Lakes Community College must be completed by February
1, 2008.
