IOWA LAKES FOUNDATION TO HOST KOSSUTH COUNTY SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING

Area golf enthusiasts are invited to attend the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation’s Kossuth County Scholarship Golf Outing on Fri., June 1 to raise scholarship funds for Kossuth County residents.

The 18 hole event will be held at River Road Golf Club in Algona with registration beginning at noon (shotgun start 1 p.m.) and lunch to be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in flag contests and games. Following the event there will be a short awards program and distribution of prizes.

"Last year’s event raised over $7,700 for Kossuth County student scholarships," said Trudy Kattner, Algona Campus Dean. "We hope to increase that amount even more this year with the help of area businesses and residents."

This year, organizers of the event are raffling a 2006 Club Car Precedent electric golf cart partially donated by River Road Golf Club. Tickets are $50 each (only 250 tickets will be sold) or 3 for $100 and may be purchased at the Iowa Lakes Algona Campus, River Road Golf Club or the Foundation Office at 1-800-242-5106 ext. 4425. If tickets remain, they will be available at the event.

Several businesses have already joined in the effort to raise scholarship funds.
