PHELPS DENTAL SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED AT IOWA LAKES

Iowa Lakes Community College is announcing the establishment of the Dr. Bill & Sally Phelps Dental Scholarship for pre-dental students attending Iowa Lakes.

Dr. Bill & Sally Phelps, philanthropists from Spencer, joined the Iowa Lakes Community College President’s Circle of giving this winter. As a result of this partnership with Iowa Lakes, the Phelps decided to utilize their President’s Circle gift by establishing this scholarship to further their support for the dental industry.

Eligible candidates for the Phelps Dental Scholarship must be enrolled full time at Iowa Lakes Community College, be planning to transfer to another institution for further dental instruction, possess a 2.8 GPA and demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. In addition, they must reside in the five-county college district area – Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth or Palo Alto counties or be planning to return to this area to practice dentistry. Application deadline for this scholarship is April 1, 2007.
