RESULTS ANNOUNCED AT 2007 BUSINESS COMPETITION DAY AT IOWA
LAKES
The 18th Annual
Business Competition Day at Iowa Lakes Community College was
held March 28 at the Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes. Nine area
high schools with over 200 students competed in this year’s
event.
Students from
Armstrong-Ringsted, Spirit Lake, Bishop Garrigan, Sentral,
Emmetsburg, Estherville Lincoln Central, Ruthven Ayrshire,
Schaller Crestland, and West Bend/Mallard competed in the
following events: Web Page Design; Accounting I and II; Job
Interview; Computerized Presentations; Computer Applications;
Business Math; Business Law, General Business Knowledge; Promote
your School Computerized Presentation; Marketing Your School
Desktop Publishing, and 5-Minute Timed Writings.
The Iowa Lakes
Community College Office Technology students assisted with the
day’s preparation.
Deb Jones,
professor and coordinator of the event, said "The level of
contestant enthusiasm is outstanding and their achievements in
today’s event are remarkable."
First place
winners received scholarships to attend Iowa Lakes Community
College.
The competition
encourages students to develop the skills and attitudes
important to many of the careers which will be available to them
when they enter the world of work.
