IOWA LAKES FOUNDATION HOSTS
HELDT MEMORIAL LAKER SCHOLARSHIP GOLF OUTING

Area golf enthusiasts are invited to attend the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation’s first-ever Linda Heldt Memorial Laker Scholarship Golf Outing July 7 at the Estherville Golf Course. Proceeds from this event provide scholarships to student-athletes at Iowa Lakes.

Though this annual golf event is in its 25th year, its new name will now memorialize long-time Iowa Lakes Athletics Department Office Assistant and Iowa Lakes alumna Linda Heldt. Heldt lost a hard fought battle with cancer earlier this year. Throughout her years of service to Iowa Lakes, Heldt earned the respect and admiration of numerous area coaches, officials and co-workers.  

Registration for this nine-hole four-person best shot event is 8:30 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Lunch and an awards program will follow play. Golfers will have the opportunity to take part in games, flag contests, a raffle and silent auctions throughout the day. Golfers wishing to play an additional 9 holes following the awards program may do so for an additional $5 fee.

“Last year’s golf outing generated over $10,500 for student-athlete scholarships,” stated Troy Larson, Iowa Lakes Athletics Director, “I am very impressed with the support shown to this event by area businesses and individuals; we look forward to a great turn out again this year.”
