IOWA LAKES SHOW CHOIR FESTIVAL PLANNED

Area high school show choirs and jazz choirs will participate in the 2007 Iowa Lakes Show Choir Festival on Monday, Jan. 22, and Tuesday, Jan. 23. Twenty-seven choirs from 19 schools will be performing for clinicians Dr. Kurt Runestad from Doane College, and Clay Blackman from Omaha.

The show choirs will perform between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. both days in the gymnasium on the Estherville campus of Iowa Lakes Community College, while the jazz choirs will perform in the auditorium of the campus. The public is invited to watch any of the choirs perform and there is no admission charge.

The following high schools will be participating in the festival: Algona, Battle Creek-Ida Grove, Denison, Emmetsburg, Estherville, Graettinger-Terril, Harris-Lake Park, Laurens-Marathon, Murray County Central, North Kossuth, Okoboji, Sheldon, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Spencer, Spirit Lake, St. James, Underwood, Waukee and Webster City.
