IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING
The annual
meeting of the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation was held
January 22 at the Iowa Lakes Spirit Lake campus.
Elections were
held resulting in Doug Lago of Estherville as President; Tom
Manley of Spencer as Vice President; Roxanne White of Everly as
Treasurer; and Foundation staff member Beth Kraft of Estherville
as Recording Secretary.
The Iowa Lakes
Community College Foundation was originally formed in 1982 as a
housing foundation for the Estherville campus. In 1995 it began
to evolve into the foundation as it is known today. It was
incorporated on September 13, 1996, as a 501c3 non-profit
organization. Having celebrated its 10th anniversary, the
foundation is structured to serve the entire college district
with members from each of the five counties; focusing on
developing scholarships and other resources for the benefit of
all students regardless of the campus they attend.
The foundation’s
2006-2007 annual giving program known as "We Believe In Us"
enjoys support from Iowa Lakes employees and alumni, along with
businesses and individuals from the college’s five-county area
and beyond for the betterment of the college and its students
through scholarships or program improvements. The employee
portion of this year’s giving program has been successfully
completed. Eighty-seven percent of full-time and 58 percent of
part-time employees participated in the giving program for a
total of over $51,000. The community portion of the annual
giving program is scheduled to be launched in early February.
