IOWA LAKES FOUNDATION LAUNCHES ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM

The Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation has launched the community portion of their annual giving program entitled "We Believe In Us." This initiative is the main fundraiser of the foundation that benefits Iowa Lakes students with scholarships, improvements to programs and addresses other areas of greatest need.

This endeavor is conducted in two phases. Last October, phase one was launched as Iowa Lakes employees were asked for their support through a kickoff entitled "Forty Years and Still a Winning Team!" The employees responded with true team spirit with 87 percent participation of full-time and over 58 percent of part-time employees resulting in over $51,500.

Shan Ray, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement, stated, "Employee involvement is very solid at Iowa Lakes Community College. This not only shows our students that we care about them; but shows our communities that ‘We Believe In Us’ as we hope they do, too."

Phase two of the program involves contacting many community partners asking them to step up to the plate and join the "Winning Team." Volunteers are out in several of the college’s five county areas to collect gifts and pledges; other communities and alumni will be contacted by direct mail.
