IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE AWARDS ASPIRES SCHOLARSHIP

Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the 2006 – 2007 ASPIRES Scholarship to Sarah Marsh, Kyle Egland, Sarah Janssen, Megan Brown, Sherry Konenig-Ledesma, Jeri Van Patten, Laura Janssen, Melanie Schweiss, Kelly Hammen and Jodee Goche.

This scholarship was established as a way for Iowa Lakes Community College to support the ASPIRES program, funded through the Department of Education Student Support Services grant. Eligibility for the ASPIRES program is determined through first generation college status, income eligibility, or by having a documented disability. This program encourages students through academic assistance, transfer counseling, campus visits and cultural enrichment offerings.

The ASPIRES scholarship is awarded to active ASPIRES participants displaying focus and commitment toward completion of their academic goals at Iowa Lakes. The award is available each semester to participating ASPIRES students who demonstrate dependability, motivation and show potential for success in reaching their educational goals. The recipient must demonstrate unmet financial need and possess a GPA in good standing.

Those wishing to apply for or establish scholarships should contact Shan Ray at the Iowa Lakes Community College Institutional Advancement / Foundations Office at 712-362-0491 or 800-242-5106 ext. 4491.
