LANDSCAPE AND TURFGRASS STUDENT RECEIVES
SCHOLARSHIP TO ATTEND NATIONAL CLINIC
A student in the
Landscape and Turfgrass Technician Program at Iowa Lakes
Community College has received word that she has received a
scholarship for an all expense paid trip to the American Nursery
and Landscape Association’s Management Clinic in Louisville, Ky.
Jamie Terveer,
Ayrshire, will travel to Louisville in early February as a guest
of the Western Nursery and Landscape Association. The group
represents landscape and nursery professionals in Iowa, Kansas,
Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Terveer will be officially
recognized as a recipient of the scholarship at the Western
Annual Meeting and Trade Show in early January at the Overland
Park Convention Center in Kansas.
This is the third
year in a row an Iowa Lakes Community College student has been
selected for this scholarship which is an opportunity for
students to meet industry leaders and learn more about nursery
and landscape careers.
The Landscape and
Turfgrass Technician program is a diploma program covering three
semesters. The last 10 weeks of the spring semester, students
are at an on-the-job training at a business of their choice.
