IOWA LAKES STUDENT BENEFITS FROM DONALD W. HAWE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the recipient of the Donald W. Hawe Memorial Scholarship for the 2007-08 academic year.

Each year a drawing is held among the Iowa Lakes employees who participate in the annual giving program. The selected employee sets criteria for a scholarship, which is then offered to students in the upcoming academic year. The employee selected to design this year’s scholarship was Linda Helmers, Associate Professor, Counselor/ASPIRES at the Estherville campus.

Helmers has named this scholarship the Donald W. Hawe Memorial Scholarship in memory of her father. Eligible candidates must be planning to attend Iowa Lakes Community College full time, be a resident of South Dakota and possess a GPA in good academic standing.

This year’s recipient of the Hawe Scholarship is Kenneth Tomek of Sioux Falls.
