IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE AWARDS “WE BELIEVE IN US” SCHOLARSHIP

Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the 2007-08 “We Believe In Us” Scholarship to more than a dozen students.

Those receiving the scholarship include: Taylor Wolter and Amber Crow of Cresco; Nicholas Thornton of Newell; Sarah Wielenga of Orange City; Amanda Hansen of Royal; and, Patrick Eaton of Des Moines.

Also awarded scholarships are Andrew Gonzalez of Elmore, Minn.; Avis Dumdei and Michael Matthews of Estherville; Thomas Thompson of Kimball, S. D.; Reid Bencheck of Lohrville; Brian O’Donnell of Lone Rock; Sarah Jones of Milford; Kimberly Updike of Spencer; Lori Lewis, Rochelle Kies and Tasida Fisher of Spirit Lake; as well as Tawny Smith of Webb.

The “We Believe In Us” Scholarship is possible as a result of the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation’s annual giving program entitled “We Believe In Us.” Each year, college employees and alumni as well as area businesses and individuals give to the “We Believe In Us” campaign. Those donations are for the betterment of the college and its students and are distributed through scholarships or improvements to college programs.
