THREE MORE SIGN TO PLAY GOLF FOR IOWA LAKES WOMEN
Iowa Lakes Community College Golf Coach, Dan Soper has
announced the signing of three more area women golfers for
the 2007-2008 season. Abby Hohensee of Pocahontas, Roxy
Headley of Emmetsburg and Amie Origer of Milford will join
previously announced signee Ricca Soper of Estherville on
the Laker women’s golf squad this fall.
Hohensee is coming off an outstanding Junior year where she
earned all conference honors, district medalist, 5th
individually at regional’s and lead her team to a 6th place
finish at the 2006 State tournament. “Abby has continued
to show rapid improvement throughout high school and will be
a great addition to our women’s program.” Soper added, “She
has great family support and I am looking forward to
coaching her over the next two years.”
Headley has been an All Lakes Conference and All District
performer for Coach Ted Riley and a strong Emmetsburg girls
program. “Roxy is very long off the tee and I look forward
to helping her bring her game to the next level.”
Origer has been a standout performer for Coach Bill
Alexander and the Okoboji girls program. She earned All
State honors on the links her freshman and junior years for
the Pioneers. “Amie has played a lot of junior tournament
golf throughout high school which will help her immensely at
the college level.” Soper added, “I expect her to be a solid
performer for us over the next two years."
He summed up the trio: “All these girls have similar games
and have competed against each other during high school. I
feel fortunate that all of them have committed to our
program and look forward to all of them competing for the
Laker women. They are all outstanding young ladies from
great families and I consider it an honor to have the
opportunity to coach them.”
Abby Hohensee is the daughter of Dean and Carol Hohensee
from Pocahontas and will major in Education; Roxy Headley is
the daughter of Gary and Geri Lynn Frink-Headley and will
major in accounting; and Amie Origer is the daughter of Don
and Beth Stump-Origer of Milford and will study business
management and naturalist field.
