IOWA’S
LT. GOVERNOR TO BE FEATURED AT
RECOGNITION CEREMONY IN ESTHERVILLE; PUBLIC INVITED
Iowa Lt.
Governor Patty Judge will be the featured speaker at the
Estherville Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College Friday as the
college unveils information on gifts being given to the Wind
Energy and Turbine Technology program and its students.
The Lt. Gov. is
expected to address her support for sustainable and renewable
energy. The Gov. Chet Culver administration has been an
advocate for energy independence in the state.
The college
will host an open house and recognition ceremony on Friday at
1:30 p.m. in ‘The Max,’ following a lunch for special guests.
The public is encouraged to attend the recognition ceremony at
1:30 p.m. as the college – and special contributors – announce
the gifts being made to the Wind Energy and Turbine Technology
program and its students.
Following the
announcements, the public is invited to tour the Wind Energy
classroom as well as view the college’s wind turbine and the new
‘classroom lab’ which includes the components of a working
nacelle (the top portion of the wind turbine.) Tours will be
conducted from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday.
