IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE AWARDS THE JEAN KING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

An Iowa Lakes Community College student, Deborah Hansen of Algona, has been named the recipient of the 2005 – 2006 Jean King Memorial Scholarship.

Family members and friends established this scholarship in 2005 to keep Jean’s memory alive while helping Iowa Lakes Community College students.

Jean taught nursing at Iowa Lakes for 21 years and then taught the RN/BSN program for the University of Iowa housed at Iowa Lakes Community College. Jean greatly valued higher education and was an inspiration and role model to those who knew her.

Eligible applicants for this scholarship must be Iowa residents planning to attend Iowa Lakes Community College full time as Associate Degree Nursing students while possessing a minimum 3.0 GPA. This award may be used for tuition, books and/or fees.
