IOWA LAKES NAMES 2004-2005 OUTSTANDING
EMPLOYEES
Six employees of Iowa Lakes Community College
have been honored for their outstanding
contributions during the 2004-2005 college year.
Annually, employees are asked to nominate
co-workers who they feel demonstrate outstanding
service – directly or indirectly – to Iowa Lakes
students, staff or faculty. The nominee had to
be a full-time or regular part-time employee
with a minimum length of service to the college
of three years. Winners were selected by a vote
from the Supervisory Team.
The outstanding employee in the Classified
Clerical area was Beth Kraft. Although she does
not see herself as a leader, she truly leads her
department, peers and those she interacts with.
She is devoted to helping students and
co-workers alike with a relentless passion to do
things right.
The Professional Support staffers who were
honored were Jeannie Reinders and Barb
Grandstaff. Reinders is a team player who is
routinely called upon by administrators, faculty
and staff when dealing not only with financial
aid but procedures and policy issues as well.
Her patience and knowledge go above and beyond
the call of duty when assisting students and
parents with the complexities of the financial
aid process. Grandstaff is a dedicated,
faithful, long-time employee of the college. She
has served on numerous committees and has
participated in planning sessions in addition to
her regular duties. Her caring heart and
creative mind as well as her ability to get
along well with others are demonstrated daily.
This year, Bob Seigel was recognized as Iowa
Lakes’ Outstanding Administrator. He is always
working to improve team efforts. He also has
outstanding leadership qualifications and has
put forth diligent efforts in upgrading the
network system, updating virus protection and
anti-spam software. He is a true professional.
The outstanding faculty recipient in the
Vocational/Career Option/Vocational Secondary
category is Joni Anderson. She is personable,
organized, collegiate, intelligent and upholds
high academic standards. She goes to other
campuses for advising anytime anyone needs her.
She makes a personal, yet professional,
connection with her students.
The outstanding faculty member in the Arts and
Science/Counselor category is Patti Tedesco who
was chosen for her winning attitude. She
embraces the teamwork approach and is an
outstanding team player herself. She is
recognized at Iowa Lakes and across the state
for outstanding student services. She has helped
hundreds of people meet their educational and
personal goals and overcome temporary setbacks.
She is accessible, conscientious and very
professional. She performs her job at an optimum
level at all times.
