ADAM BENSON IS STUDENT SENATE PRESIDENT FOR
EMMETSBURG CAMPUS OF IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY
COLLEGE
A Cherokee man has been selected to lead
students on the Emmetsburg campus of Iowa Lakes
Community College.
Adam Benson will serve as the President of the
Emmetsburg Student Senate for the 2005 – 2006
college year.
Benson is a sophomore in the Nursing Program.
Last year, he served as the secretary/treasurer
of the Emmetsburg senators. While classes have
been under way for only a short time, he has
already set goals for the college year.
“My goals for this year are to increase
participation in senate activities, work on some
campus budgeting disbursements, provide the
students with more activities throughout the
year, have information brochures and pamphlets
about many topics available for all students. I
will also work on upgrading the available
outside activities on campus by resanding the
sand volleyball pit and putting in frisbee golf
holes and doing more community based events, and
charitable donations. Some of the topics will
cover school events, drug and alcohol awareness,
student enhancing activities, and the sporting
events up in Estherville,” Benson said.
He is the son of Dale and Mary Benson of
Cherokee.
