DARIN MOELLER NAMED NEW SPIRIT LAKE CAMPUS DEAN

Iowa Lakes Community College has a new Dean of the Spirit Lake Campus. Darin Moeller, who is currently serving as Registrar, will begin his Spirit Lake duties Dec. 1.

According to Dr. Mike Hupfer, President at Iowa Lakes, “I think in his term as Registrar, Darin has demonstrated his problem solving skills and his interest in our students which will serve him well as the third dean of our Spirit Lake Campus.”

Moeller received his first two years of college education at Iowa Lakes. He then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa where he earned his degree in business administration.

Moeller received a master’s degree in higher education from Iowa State University this past spring. He is currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership in higher education at Iowa State.

“This opportunity allows me to continue to grow professionally while maintaining my relationship with Iowa Lakes Community College and its mission to serve students and the communities,” said Moeller. “The Spirit Lake Campus plays a vital role in this region and I look forward to continuing to build on the strong relationships with business and industry which my predecessors have established.”

He began working at Iowa Lakes just over a decade ago as Housing Coordinator and Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. He was promoted to Head Men’s Basketball Coach in 1997 and added the duties of Athletics Director in 1999. He advanced to the Registrar’s position three years ago.
