ATTEND CONFERENCE
Four math professors of Iowa Lakes Community
College recently attended the annual conference
of the American Mathematical Association of
Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC).
Mike Bosch, Assistant Professor; Eileen Kadow,
Associate Professor; Anne Peterson, Professor;
and Nancy Schendel, Professor; attended the
conference in San Diego, Calif., Nov. 10-13. The
conference featured a selection of over 200
workshops and presentations to improve
mathematics education in two-year colleges.
More than 1,400 mathematics educators from the
United States and Canada attended the 31st
annual professional AMATYC conference.
Founded in 1974, AMATYC is dedicated to the
improvement of mathematics education at
community colleges. The American Mathematical
Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC) is the
only organization exclusively devoted to
providing a national forum for the improvement
of the instruction of the mathematics in the
first two years of college. AMATYC has
approximately 2,800 individual members and over
100 institutional members in the United States
