BOOKSTORE TO OPEN AT SPENCER CAMPUS OF IOWA
LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The Spencer
Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College is getting a new
‘addition’ to its campus.
Starting December 1, a bookstore will open at the campus.
With the increasing enrollments in Spencer, a bookstore was
gaining importance.
“Over the years, I think we’ve probably hauled a couple tons of
books each year from the Emmetsburg Campus to the Spencer Campus
for students,” said Sandra Naig, bookstore coordinator. “This
will provide those students with their own bookstore and
increase the number of hours students may buy their books – at
their convenience.”
In addition to books, the bookstore will also feature a variety
of Iowa Lakes merchandise such as sweatshirts, other clothing
with the Iowa Lakes logo on it as well as novelty items.
“We’ll also be selling some Iowa Lakes picture frames that were
made in Spencer,” Naig said.
And, for the student who might have forgotten someone’s
birthday, there will be an assortment of greeting cards for
sale.
Like the other bookstores in Emmetsburg and Estherville, an
assortment of candy and chips will be available. Unlike the
other bookstores, this will be the only bookstore with a
flavored coffee display featuring the Jumpy Monkey brand coffee
packaged at Village Northwest Unlimited at Sheldon.
Bookstore hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through
Friday; and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
Extended hours will be offered at the beginning of each
semester.
