IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE AWARDS ALUMNI
SCHOLARSHIP
Iowa Lakes Community College has awarded the
2005 - 2006 Alumni Scholarship.
Those receiving the scholarship this year
include Michael Hill of Estherville and Scott
Sikora of Ruthven.
Sikora is a traditional full time student
enrolled in the Arts & Science program at the
Estherville Campus. Upon completion of his
associate’s degree in May 2006 he plans to
further his education at Iowa Lakes by
completing degrees in the Graphic Design &
Technology and Auto Collision & Paint Technology
programs. His eventual goal is to be a vehicle
air brush artist.
Hill, a traditional Education Transfer program
student, attends the Estherville Campus full
time. He plans to transfer to the University of
Northern Iowa after his graduation from Iowa
Lakes in May 2006. Hill wishes to be a history
teacher somewhere in Iowa eventually.
“I am honored to receive this award. It means a
great deal to me since my dad was also an Iowa
Lakes alumnus,” said Sikora.
Hill said, “I want to thank the Alumni & Friends
Association for this award, it helps financially
which allows me to concentrate on my studies.”
The Alumni Scholarship is sponsored by the Iowa
Lakes Alumni & Friends Association and benefits
returning alumni or children of alumni.
Applicants must have completed at least 30
credit hours at Iowa Lakes and plan to enroll
for at least 12 semester hours during each of
the semesters of the scholarship year. If a
returning alumni, applicant must have attended
at least two years prior to start date.
