IOWA LAKES ALUMNI & FRIENDS ASSOCIATION HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING

The Iowa Lakes Community College Alumni & Friends Association held their annual meeting on November 7 at the Estherville Campus.

Dr. Michael Hupfer, College President, addressed the group with what is going on at the college and future plans. Kevin Howard, Estherville Student Senate President, shared student activities planned for the upcoming college year.

Election of officers for the 2005-2006 year was held with Marian Brunsvold of Spirit Lake elected as President; Norma Beaver of Estherville as Vice President; and Cindy Oviatt of Spencer as Treasurer. The Board of Directors includes these officers along with Steve Danielson, Nancy Hanby, Beth Kraft and Larry Sundall of Estherville, Katie Elbert of Emmetsburg, Sandy Naig of Graettinger, Jolene Rogers of Ringsted and college liaison Shan Ray of Milford.

The Iowa Lakes Alumni & Friends Association was established in 1989 to maintain and promote loyalty to Iowa Lakes Community College as well as support students through special activities and by providing scholarships. General membership is open to anyone interested in promoting the college, its students and alumni.

The board of directors meets five times during the college year, once at each of the five Iowa Lakes campuses. Students, faculty, staff and friends are invited to enjoy refreshments, gain knowledge of the benefits of joining the association, and attend the business meeting.
