IOWA LAKES STUDENTS TO BENEFIT FROM DONATION

An area business has donated items to the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation to help future students.

Okoboji Boat Works has donated numerous parts and an engine for marine equipment to the Iowa Lakes Community College Marine and Small Engine Program. Instructor Rick Brichta graciously accepted the donation, valued at approximately at $30,000.

“We really appreciate the cooperation of all the area marinas that continue to support this unique program,” said Shan Ray, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement at Iowa Lakes.

Parks Marina purchased Okoboji Boats four years ago. Dan Derpelding said that service area, a convenience store, a restaurant and a bar were opened at the site that was renovated in 2004.
