GOLF NATIONALS BEGIN IN SCOTTSBORO, ALABAMA
FOR TWO IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENTS
Two Iowa Lakes Community College students will
tee off this morning in the first day of play in
the National Junior College Athletic
Association's Division II golf tourney.
Kent Schroeder and Niel Riedemann completed
practice rounds yesterday (Monday) at Goose Pond
Colony Golf Course in Scottsboro, Ala.
Coach Dan Soper reported Monday's weather was
nice with temperatures in the low 80s and not
much wind - something the students will
appreciate after playing in a lot of wind (and
cool weather) this spring!
Tee time for Schroeder is at 8:30 this morning
with Riedemann teeing off at 8:48 a.m.
Schroeder is from Mapleton and Riedemann is from
Melvin. Schroeder was the medalist at regional
play earlier this month. That honor won him
'Athlete of the Week' accolades by the Iowa
Community College Athletic Conference.
Play continues through Friday.
