MACKENZIE EGGERS SIGNS WITH IOWA LAKES
Iowa Lakes Community College Head Cross Cross
Coach Mike Nichols has announced the signing of
MacKenzie Eggers to a National Junior College
Letter of Intent.
A native of Estherville, Eggers has been
a member of the Estherville Lincoln
Central Cross Country and Track programs
throughout high school. In cross
country, she was also a member of the
2002 state qualifying team and the 2004
Lakes Conference champion team. She has
run a career best time of 15:37 at the
4K distance. |

In track, Eggers ran career bests of 2:34 at 800
meters, 62.1 at 400 and 27.04 at 200. She has
also qualified for state with four sprint relays
in her first three seasons. In addition, she has
earned several team awards including rookie of
the year and clutch performer (twice).
According to Coach Nichols, who was also her
high school coach for three years, “MacKenzie
will be a great addition to Iowa Lakes cross
country. She is not only a quality athlete, but
is also as competitive as anybody I’ve ever
coached. She will provide us with good
leadership in this area.”
She is the daughter of Mike Eggers and Starla
Lynch and will be enrolled in the Associate in
Arts program at Iowa Lakes Community College.
Iowa Lakes Community College has been competing
in cross country for two years. Seven students
advanced to the national competition in El Paso,
Texas, in November of last year.
