WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
ATHLETES NAMED TO ALL REGION
Three Iowa Lakes Community College
women’s basketball players have been honored for
their outstanding athleticism by being named to
the NJCAA Region XI All-Region Team.
Lacey Geitzenauer, a 6’0” post player from Lone
Rock, was named to the First Team All-Region
following regional tournament action in Cedar
Rapids last week. Geitzenauer is a sophomore.
“Lacey was a force inside all season and she was
consistent all season. She averaged 16.8 points
per game (second in the league), 6.3 rebounds
and shooting 71 percent from the free throw
line,” said Iowa Lakes’ Women’s
Basketball head coach, Brian Radtke.
Named to the Second Team All-Region was Tina
Geisler. Geisler (a sophomore) is a 5’11”
forward from Racine, Wisc.
“Tina did a great job both inside and outside
the lane. She averaged 12 points per game, 6.1
rebounds/game, 33 percent from the 3-point line,
and 72 percent from the free throw line,” said
Coach Radtke.
Selected to the Honorable Mention Team
All-Region was Erin. The 5’7”
guard from Cedar Rapids is a sophomore.
“Erin did a great job at the
point guard spot,” said Radtke. “She lead the
league in both assists (5.8 per game) and steals
(2.9 per game). She also averaged 8 points a
game and shot 33 percent from the 3-point line.”
After the tournament last weekend at
Cedar Rapids, Lacey and Erin were
named to the All-Tournament Team. Lacey averaged
16 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Erin Jones averaged 17 points per game, 5.3
assists and 2.3 steals per game. “They both had
three great tournament games,” said Radtke.
The Laker women went 9-5 on the season in the
region and 21-11 overall.
