SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED FOR
‘EARLY DECIDERS’
A
new scholarship has been set up at Iowa Lakes
Community College specifically designed for
individuals who select Iowa Lakes while they’re
a high school junior.
To qualify for the Iowa Lakes Sanborn Junior
Student Scholarship, a junior in high school
must have at least a 2.0 Grade Point Average (G.P.A.)
and plan to graduate the following year with a
high school diploma.
In addition, the potential student must plan to
be a full-time student at Iowa Lakes. Students
need to complete an admissions application to
Iowa Lakes, be accepted to the college and
complete the Sanborn Junior Scholarship
Application and supporting materials by the
deadline of April 1, the year prior to high
school graduation.
Supporting materials include a letter of
reference, a one-page narrative and a copy of
the student’s current high school transcript in
addition, students need to have contacted Iowa
Lakes and set a date for a campus visit.
The Sanborn Junior Student Scholarship is for a
total of $500 - $250 awarded the fall of their
freshman year and $250 for the spring term of
their first year of college.
