JULI LARSON SIGNS WITH IOWA LAKES
Iowa Lakes Community College’s Head Cross
Country Coach, Mike Nichols, has announced the
signing of Juli Larson to a National Junior
College Letter of Intent.
A native of Slayton, Minn., Juli has been a
member of the Murray County Central Cross
Country and Track programs throughout high
school. She was also a member of a state
qualifying team and ran a career best time of
16:13 at the 4K distance. In track, Larson ran
career bests of 2:34 at 800 meters and 5:41 at
1,600 meters. In addition, she has several team
awards including most improved athlete and the
Guts Award. In 2001, Juli was recognized as the
most valuable member of her team.
Her high school coach, Dominick Damm says of
Juli, “Juli is a hard worker that does
everything that she is asked to do, and does it
with a smile.”
Juli is the daughter of Harvey and Carolyn
Larson and will be enrolled in the Associate in
Arts program as a pre-vet major at Iowa Lakes
Community College.
Iowa Lakes has been competing in cross country
for two years. Seven students advanced to the
national competition in El Paso, Texas, in
November of last year.
In addition to cross country, students may
participate in intercollegiate sports of
baseball, softball, volleyball, golf and
basketball at Iowa Lakes.
