RESULTS ANNOUNCED
AT 2005 BUSINESS COMPETITION DAY AT IOWA LAKES
The 16th Annual Business Competition Day at Iowa
Lakes Community college was held March 31 at the
Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes. Ten area high
schools with 200+ students competed in this
year’s event.
Students from Armstrong-Ringsted, Bishop
Garrigan, Emmetsburg, Estherville Lincoln
Central, North Kossuth, Ruthven-Ayrshire,
Schaller-Crestland, Sentral, Spirit Lake and
West Bend/Mallard competed in the following
events: Web Page Design; Accounting I and II;
Job Interview; Computerized Presentations;
Business Computer Applications; Business Math;
Business Law, General Business Knowledge;
Promote your School Computerized Presentation;
and Marketing Your School Desktop Publishing.
The Iowa Lakes Community College Office
Technology students assisted with the day’s
preparation.
“The judges of this year’s event commented on
the high level of skills that were demonstrated
in today’s event,” said Deb Jones, professor and
coordinator of the event. “As always, the
students are very enthusiastic and excited and
show a lot of school pride.”
First place winners received $100 scholarships
to attend Iowa Lakes Community College.
The competition encourages students to develop
the skills and attitudes important to many of
the careers which will be available to them when
they enter the world of work.
