‘TEENS FOR EDUCATIONAL TALENT
SEARCH’
DONATE FLEECE TIE BLANKETS TO AVERA HOLY FAMILY
HOSPITAL
Students involved with ‘TEENS for Educational
Talent Search’ at Iowa Lakes Community College
donated fleece tie blankets to Avera Holy Family
Hospital in Estherville.
‘TEENS’ is a program for students grades 9
through 12 in the five county area (Clay,
Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth and Palo Alto) who
have at least a 2.5 GPA and a vision for
leadership. The group meets monthly to promote
community betterment through volunteerism, fun
workshops and special trips.
‘TEENS’ students volunteered their time on April
21 to cut and tie nine fleece blankets. They
made the decision to donate the blankets to the
Avera Holy Family Hospital’s OB ward in
Estherville.
On May 19, ‘TEENS’ students donated the blankets
to the hospital. OB nurses, Jo Rehm, Judy
McQuown, and Velvet Lundgren, accepted the
blankets from the students. These blankets will
be given to newborn babies at the hospital.
