IOWA LAKES PROGRAMS RANK IN
TOP 50 NATIONWIDE
Two programs at Iowa Lakes Community College
have made the top 50 in Associate’s degrees,
according to Community College Week.
In their June 20 edition of Community College
Week, the college’s Natural Resources and
Conservation Program was the 18th largest in the
country, ranking as the highest community
college in the state of Iowa for 2002-2003.
The publication also listed preliminary numbers
for the 2003-2004 college year which showed
another increase of 33 percent. Those final
figures will not be available until June of
2006.
Also, the Agriculture, Ag Operations and Related
Sciences Program was featured as the 47th
largest in the country for the 2002-2003 college
year.
This annual publication is a chance for the
college to compare itself to some of the largest
community colleges across the country. In the
accompanying article, Community College Week
pointed out that students today are more
consumer oriented and are choosing institutions
based on cost, convenience and responsiveness.
