THIRD SCHOLARSHIP POKER RIDE IS JULY 16

Motorcycle enthusiasts will want to mark Saturday, July 16 on their calendar to participate in the Third Annual Poker Ride to benefit students of Iowa Lakes Community College.

The event will take riders to all of the Iowa Lakes Community College campuses for fun and activities.

The ride begins in Estherville where participants will register at 8:30 a.m. with send-off at 9:30 a.m. The Estherville campus is on S. 18th Street, two blocks south of Iowa Highway 9.

Riders will travel first to Spirit Lake where they’ll get a chance to take part in the Guinea Hog race and get refreshed with a variety of fruits. The Spirit Lake campus is located at the intersection of Hill Avenue and 21st Street.

At the Spencer campus, which is located on the north end of town near the Spencer Post Office, raffle prizes will be on display and riders may purchase raffle tickets.

Then travelers head east to the Emmetsburg campus where lunch will be served and poker hands will be dealt. The Emmetsburg campus is located north of U.S. Highway 18 shortly after Basswood Park which is next to the bridge on the west side of town.

Finally, riders will continue to the Algona campus where the ride will end. The Algona campus is located on U.S. Highway 169 about ½ mile north of the intersection with U.S. Highway 18. Raffle prizes, door prizes and the top poker hand prize will be distributed.

Preregistration is not required. A freewill donation includes a T-shirt to the first 200 riders, lunch at the Emmetsburg campus, snacks, door prizes and a top poker hand prize. The ride also features games and raffle items. All motorcycle enthusiasts are encouraged to join in the fun at every stop.
