JEAN KING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED

Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the establishment of the Jean King Memorial Scholarship.

Family members and friends have established this scholarship to keep Jean’s memory alive while helping Iowa Lakes Community College students. Jean taught nursing at Iowa Lakes Community College for 21 years and then taught the RN/BSN program for the University of Iowa housed at Iowa Lakes. Jean greatly valued higher education and was an inspiration and role model to those who knew her.

Eligible applicants for this scholarship must be Iowa residents planning to attend Iowa Lakes Community College full time as Associate Degree Nursing students while possessing a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The deadline for applications is September 9, 2005. This award may be used for tuition, books and/or fees and will be split between the fall 05 and spring 06 semesters.
