IOWA LAKES INSTRUCTOR EARNS
INTERNATIONAL FORENSIC CERTIFICATION
An Iowa Lakes Community College instructor has
earned an international certificate related to
the program he teaches.
Ken Whitener just earned an international
certification making him a “Certified Forensic
Computer Examiner.” He is the instructor of the
new Computer Forensic program which is under the
Criminal Justice program umbrella.
“I did 80 hours of training in Orlando, Fla.,
and a year-long practicum followed by a written
exam,” said Whitener.
Whitener’s certification was earned through the
International Association of Computer
Investigative Specialists. He is currently
working with law enforcement centers around the
local area performing computer forensic
analysis.
Whitener is an assistant professor at Iowa
Lakes. He coordinates and teaches computer
programming and forensics. He earned his
bachelor’s degree at Georgia State and his
master’s degree at American Intercontinental
University.
