PALO ALTO COUNTY CORN &
SOYBEAN GROWERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS
ANNOUNCED
Iowa Lakes Community College has announced the
recipients of scholarships that are available
from the Palo Alto County Corn & Soybean Growers
Association. To be eligible for one of the
scholarships, the recipient, their parent or
grandparent must be a member of the Association.
Deadline for these scholarship applications is
March 1, 2005.
Those selected this year include: Seth Beenken
of Bancroft as the recipient of the Growers Ag
Participation Scholarship and Alecia Leners of
Spirit Lake as the recipient of the Growers Iowa
Lakes Student Scholarship.
Criteria for these scholarships are as follows:
Agriculture Participation Scholarship: Eligible
students are enrolled in the first year of the
two-year Agriculture Production Program at Iowa
Lakes. The recipient works with the college and
the Growers Association on their test plot. This
scholarship, if renewed for the second semester,
could provide up to $925 in scholarship funding.
Iowa Lakes Student Scholarship: Up to five, $500
scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in
any program at Iowa Lakes Community College who
are members of the Palo Alto County Corn &
Soybean Growers Association.
Iowa Lakes Student Agriculture Opportunity
Scholarship: Up to a $1,000 scholarship will be
awarded to a student who will be enrolled in any
accredited two-year or four-year college
agricultural program. Favorable consideration is
given to students displaying a strong
involvement in their school and community.
Growing for the Future Scholarship: Eligible
students are to be enrolled in any accredited
two-year or four-year college pursuing a major
or program of their choice.
