SECOND DAY IOWA LAKES JAZZ
CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED
The second day of competition in the 30th
Annual Jazz Band Contest at Iowa Lakes Community
College has been completed. Winners from today
are listed below:
Class 1A
1. Southern Cal High School – Tom
Plummer, Director
2. Central
Lyon High School – Sherwin Langholdt, Director
3. Kingsley
– Pierson High School – Randy Washburn, Director
(A total of eight bands from Iowa and Minnesota
participated in the contest.)
Class 4A
1.
Sioux City North I – Larry Kisor,
Director
2.
Sioux City North II – Kevin Linder,
Director
3.
West High School, Sioux City – Keith
Weigandt, Director
(A total of five bands participated in the 4A
competition.)
On Thursday, class 3A bands will compete. Those
results will be available Thursday.
The public is invited to attend any or all of
the activities. All contests are in the
Gymnasium on the Estherville Campus. There is
no admission charge. Carol Ayres, Professor of
Instrumental Music at Iowa Lakes is in charge of
the event.
