ANOTHER RECORD ENROLLMENT
REPORTED AT IOWA LAKES
For the ninth spring semester in a row, Iowa
Lakes Community College has set a new record for
enrollment.
The grand total for enrollment, which includes
all programs at Iowa Lakes Community College, is
3,935 – up 5.7 percent when compared with one
year ago.
When compared with five years ago, the college’s
enrollment is up nearly 18.5 percent.
The largest increase was in vocational classes.
“This spring our vocational programs were up
18.1 percent from a year ago,” said Julie
Carlson, Dean of Enrollment Management. “Also,
our partnerships with area high schools are
going extremely well. We had more Postsecondary
and College Prep students – up 16.8 percent from
a year ago.”
Credit hours are also up this spring – by 2.57
percent.
Iowa Lakes offers more than 100 areas of study
at its locations in Algona, Emmetsburg,
Estherville, Spencer and Spirit Lake. In
addition, the college provides training and
retraining to employees of area business and
industry as well as continuing education
courses.
