STUDENTS NAMED TO ACADEMIC ALL-REGION TEAMS

Seven members of the Iowa Lakes Community College Cross Country Team have achieved Academic All-Region honors.

Kacie Schmidt, a freshman from Garner; and Herman Van Den Brandt, a sophomore from Bruxelles, Belgium, were named to the First Team Academic All-Region.

Named to the Second Team Academic All-Region were Lindsay Bruns, a freshman from Garner; Alison Treanor, a freshman from Minnesota Lake, Minn.; Tara Wielenga, a freshman from Sheldon; Lance Queck, a freshman from Fontanelle; and José Garza, a sophomore from Terril.

All seven attended the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship Meet in El Paso, Texas, in early November.

During the season, Iowa Lakes competed in nine meets – running against four-year and two-year college competition.
