COLLEGE TO OFFER “COLLEGE FOR KIDS”

Again this summer, Iowa Lakes Community College will offer “College for Kids” for area students entering grades 1-6 in the fall.  “College for Kids” will be held July 26 – July 30, 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  July 13 is the registration deadline. 

The registration fee includes two classes per day, a “College for Kids” T-shirt, daily snacks and all supplies.   On the final day, parents, grandparents and friends are invited to attend classes with their student, participate in a closing “graduation” ceremony, and enjoy a picnic lunch. 

“College for Kids”, in its 19^th year at Iowa Lakes Community College, provides a variety of learning experiences which will foster creativity, improve problem solving skills and enhance cooperation rather than competition.  Examples of classes offered include: “Dig Those Dinosaurs”, “Brilliant Brushes”, “Creepy Crawly Creatures”, “Tropical Adventures”, “Crazy about Camping”, “Fun with Foods”, “On the Trail with Lewis and Clark”, “Science Unlimited”, “Archery”, “Rockets”, “Time Travel Academy” and “Journalism and Photography”.
