ALAN BLUM RECEIVES OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AWARD

Alan Blum has received the Jim Hall Outstanding Alumni Award from the Iowa Lakes Community College Alumni & Friends Association.  In its 13th year, the award is presented annually to an alumnus who is outstanding in community, business, school, service clubs, etc. – a good representative of the college.        

Alan Blum, a 1968 graduate of Estherville Junior College, has been with the Blum-Leonard Agency in Estherville for 33 years, currently serving as President.  He has been a 20-year member of the Estherville Industrial Development Corporation and was instrumental in founding the Iowa Lakes Century Club in the 1970s as well as the Estherville Housing Corporation.          

Blum resides in Estherville with his wife Linda, son Zack, and mother Ardis.  Daughter Shana and her husband Jeremy Horner and grandson Kaden reside in Rochester, Minn.
