BURT STUDENT CAPTURES NATIONAL TOP 10 RANKING

A Burt student participating in the Secondary Health Occupations in Algona through Iowa Lakes Community College has captured a top 10 ranking in national competition.

Ashley Zwiefel came in seventh in the nation in Extemporaneous Writing at the National Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) Leadership Conference held in Orlando, Fla., late last month.  Some 5,000 students were at the conference to compete in numerous health related contests.

HOSA is a student organization whose mission is to promote career opportunities in health care and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people.   The National Leadership Conference includes educational activities, leadership academies, exhibits, general sessions along with an opportunity to meet people from across the United States and Puerto Rico with similar goals.
