BURT STUDENT CAPTURES NATIONAL TOP 10 RANKING
A Burt student participating in the Secondary
Health Occupations in Algona through Iowa Lakes
Community College has captured a top 10 ranking
in national competition.
Ashley Zwiefel came in seventh in the nation in
Extemporaneous Writing at the National Health
Occupation Students of America (HOSA) Leadership
Conference held in Orlando, Fla., late last
month. Some 5,000 students were at the
conference to compete in numerous health related
contests.
HOSA is a student organization whose mission is
to promote career opportunities in health care
and to enhance the delivery of quality health
care to all people. The National Leadership
Conference includes educational activities,
leadership academies, exhibits, general sessions
along with an opportunity to meet people from
across the United States and Puerto Rico with
similar goals.
