SCHOLARSHIP ESTABLISHED TO HONOR DR. AILEEN SCHACHERER

A scholarship has been established at the Spirit Lake Campus to honor a long-time employee of Iowa Lakes Community College.

Dr. Aileen Schacherer, having served Iowa Lakes Community College and its students for more than a decade, announced her retirement as the Spirit Lake Campus Director effective the end of June 2004.  To recognize Aileen for her dedication to the college, family and friends have established the Aileen Schacherer Spirit Lake Campus Scholarship.

Iowa Lakes Community College Spirit Lake Campus students who are eligible for this scholarship should have overcome obstacles reflected in the applicant's personal summary and show financial need, yet do not qualify for federal financial assistance.  Applicants must have completed one semester at Iowa Lakes enrolled for a minimum of six credits and be currently
enrolled at the Iowa Lakes Spirit Lake Campus for a minimum of six credits.
