SIX COMMIT WITH IOWA LAKES VOLLEYBALL

Iowa Lakes Community College Head Volleyball Coach, Scott Tschetter, has announced the signing of six young women to a National Junior College Letter of Intent.

The six include Nichole Hendrickson, Jamie Gerdes, Ashley Weller, Stacie Stindtman, Nicole Wilder, and Kandace Oswald.

Nichole Hendrickson, a 5' 9" outside hitter from Jackson County Central High School, was First Team All-State, All-State Tournament Team, and Academic All-State for the Husky's State Championship team.  She had 333 kills for the year and had a .380 hitting efficiency.  In addition, she had 297 digs and 163 blocks for the 2003 season. "While she is a very potent offensive player, she is one of the best defensive players I've seen coming out of high school", said Tschetter.  "We're very excited to have Nichole becoming part of our Laker Volleyball team."

Jamie Gerdes, a 5'11" middle from Forest City was a 2nd Team All-State player for the Indians.  She was 3rd in the state averaging 5 kills per game with a total of 500 for the season.  She was 12th in blocks with a 2.02 game average and a total of 202.  "Jamie has the ability to take over a game. Her height and power will be an asset to our over-all team attack," said
Tschetter.

Stacie Stindtman a 5'8" outside hitter from Blue Earth, Minn., was a 1st Team all SCC Conference selection and an Academic All-State recipient.  In 2003 she had 232 kills, 286 digs, and finished 4th on Blue Earth Area's career dig list with 611.  "Stacie is a tremendous back row player and has a great jump serve, we think she'll make a great Libero for us," stated
Tschetter.

Ashley Weller is a 5'9" outside hitter from West Bend-Mallard High School. She was a 1-A Northwest Iowa All-District Player who was 20th in the state averaging 3.86 kills per game and 39th in the state in Ace Serves per game. "Ashley is a powerful hitter, she attacks the ball with a great deal of force," Tschetter said. "We are very fortunate to have Ashley as part of our
organization."

Nicole Wilder is 5'9" middle out of Mabel-Canton High School in Minnesota. She was a 1st Team SEC All-Conference player who had 174 kills and a .382 hitting efficiency this season.  "Nicole is a very versatile athlete who can play a lot of different positions," Tschetter disclosed.  "She will fill a variety of different roles for us."

Kandace Oswald is a 5'8" outside hitter who is transferring from Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb.  Originally from Wisner-Pilger High School in Nebraska, she brings a great deal of quickness to the Lakers.

"We are very excited with this group of recruits.  They are very athletic, with four of them having State Tournament experience.  In addition they all come from very successful volleyball programs with lots of volleyball tradition," added Tschetter.
