SIX COMMIT WITH IOWA LAKES VOLLEYBALL

College Head Volleyball Coach, Scott Tschetter, has announced the
signing of six young women to a National Junior College Letter of
Intent.
The six include Nichole Hendrickson, Jamie Gerdes, Ashley Weller,
Stacie Stindtman, Nicole Wilder, and Kandace Oswald.
Nichole Hendrickson, a 5' 9" outside hitter from Jackson County
Central High School, was First Team All-State, All-State
Tournament Team, and Academic All-State for the Husky's State
Championship team. She had 333 kills for the year and had a .380
hitting efficiency. In addition, she had 297 digs and 163 blocks
for the 2003 season. "While she is a very potent offensive player,
she is one of the best defensive players I've seen coming out of
high school", said Tschetter. "We're very excited to have Nichole
becoming part of our Laker Volleyball team."
Jamie Gerdes, a 5'11" middle from Forest City was a 2nd Team
All-State player for the Indians. She was 3rd in the state
averaging 5 kills per game with a total of 500 for the season.
She was 12th in blocks with a 2.02 game average and a total of
202. "Jamie has the ability to take over a game. Her height and
power will be an asset to our over-all team attack," said
Tschetter.
Stacie Stindtman a 5'8" outside hitter from Blue Earth, Minn., was
a 1st Team all SCC Conference selection and an Academic All-State
recipient. In 2003 she had 232 kills, 286 digs, and finished 4th
on Blue Earth Area's career dig list with 611. "Stacie is a
tremendous back row player and has a great jump serve, we think
she'll make a great Libero for us," stated
Tschetter.
Ashley Weller is a 5'9" outside hitter from West Bend-Mallard High
School. She was a 1-A Northwest Iowa All-District Player who was
20th in the state averaging 3.86 kills per game and 39th in the
state in Ace Serves per game. "Ashley is a powerful hitter, she
attacks the ball with a great deal of force," Tschetter said. "We
are very fortunate to have Ashley as part of our
organization."
Nicole Wilder is 5'9" middle out of Mabel-Canton High School in
Minnesota. She was a 1st Team SEC All-Conference player who had
174 kills and a .382 hitting efficiency this season. "Nicole is a
very versatile athlete who can play a lot of different positions,"
Tschetter disclosed. "She will fill a variety of different roles
for us."
Kandace Oswald is a 5'8" outside hitter who is transferring from
Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Neb. Originally from
Wisner-Pilger High School in Nebraska, she brings a great deal of
quickness to the Lakers.
"We are very excited with this group of recruits. They are very
athletic, with four of them having State Tournament experience.
In addition they all come from very successful volleyball programs
with lots of volleyball tradition," added Tschetter.
