IOWA LAKES JAZZ CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

 

The first day of competition in the 29^th Annual Jazz Band Contest at Iowa Lakes Community College has been completed. Winners from today are listed below:

Class A
1.   Aurelia – Jason Heeren, Director
2.      Pomeroy-Palmer – Steve Brown, Director
3.      Harris-Lake Park – Randy Gadtland, Director

Class 2A
1.      Okoboji High School Jazz I – Greg Forney, Director
2.      Prairie Valley High School – Deb Fritcher, Director
3.      South O’Brien High School Jazz I – Joel Pedersen, Director

Wednesday will feature class 1A and class 4A bands.  On Thursday, class 3A bands will compete.

The public is invited to attend any or all of the activities.  All contests are in the Gymnasium on the Estherville Campus.  There is no admission charge.  Carol Ayres, Professor of Instrumental Music at Iowa Lakes is in charge of the event. 

Additional results will be available tomorrow as well as Thursday.
