2004 BASEBALL CAMP PLANNED AT IOWA LAKES
Spots are still available in the 2004 Winter Training Baseball
Camp at Iowa Lakes Community College.
Jason Nell, head coach of the Laker baseball team, will lead the
baseball camp. Assisting during the sessions will be players from
the Iowa Lakes baseball team and other area high school and
college coaches.
The camp is a specialized program that provides young people the
opportunity to be evaluated by top coaches, improve their skill
level and prepare them for the upcoming season. During sessions
specifically designed for their age group, Coach Nell will
demonstrate and teach a variety of skills and fundamentals
necessary for players to become successful. Each camper receives
personalized attention to facilitate his/her skill development.
The first camp will be for young people ages 7 to 12. It will be
held on Saturday, Jan. 31. There are two sessions: the morning
session is from 9 a.m. - noon and will concentrate on defense. The
afternoon session is from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and will emphasize
hitting.
The second camp will be for young people ages 13 to 18. It will
be held on Saturday, Feb. 14. There will also be two sessions at
this camp: the morning session is from 9 a.m. -noon and will
concentrate on defense. The afternoon session is from 1 p.m. - 3
p.m. and will focus on hitting.
Both sessions will be held in the Christensen Activity Center at
the Estherville Campus of Iowa Lakes. Cost to attend camp is $30
per person and includes a T-shirt.
