TWO IOWA LAKES PLAYERS NAMED 'ATHLETE OF THE WEEK'

Two Iowa Lakes Community College basketball players have been named 'Athlete of the Week.'

Josh McKinney was named 'Male Athlete of the Week' and Lacey Geitzenauer was selected as 'Scholar Athlete of the Week' for the week of January 12.

McKinney, a sophomore, is from Urbandale and has been burning up the nets this season with his hot shooting.  He currently averages 20.29 points per game and 3.1 steals.  His season best game has been against Southwestern Community College Jan. 17 when he hit on 13 of 24 three-point attempts and was 2 of 4 from the floor for 43 points.  He also had four steals in that
game.

Geitzenauer, a 6-foot freshman from Lone Rock, plays the 'post' position for the Laker women.   In two wins - against NIACC and Southwestern - Geitzenauer scored a total of 32 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, hit on 16 of 19 attempts from the charity stripe and blocked three shots.  Along with her accomplishments on the court, Geitzenauer maintains a 3.2 GPA.
