EMMETSBURG
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Iowa Lakes Community
College has awarded the 2003-04 Emmetsburg Knights of Columbus
Hospitality Management Scholarship to Josh Vlietstra of Orange
City.
Josh is a traditional
full-time sophomore student enrolled in the Hotel & Restaurant
Management Program at the Emmetsburg Campus. Upon graduating in
May 2004, he plans to relocate to Sioux Falls, S.D. and eventually
manage a hotel.
Josh stated, "I would
like to thank the Knights of Columbus for establishing this
scholarship. It is an honor to have my hard work and dedication
recognized."
The Emmetsburg Council
936 of the Knights of Columbus is a service organization dedicated
to the support of church, youth, family and community. The
Knights of Columbus were founded in 1882 in New Haven, Conn. by
Father Michael J. McGivney. The Emmetsburg Council will celebrate
its 100th anniversary in 2005. During the year the local council
assists with or supports Auctionfest, youth trips, CAASA, Free
Throw Contest, Punt Pass and Kick Contest, blood drives, and Head
Start just to name a few.
