WORKSHOP TO HIGHLIGHT GOAL PLANNING

Area residents desiring to learn about goals - and then put them into action are encouraged to sign up for a course planned for April at Iowa Lakes Community College.

A two-part workshop entitled "Goals, Goals, Goals!  Why Do We Use Them?" will be held April 20 and 27 at the Emmetsburg Campus of Iowa Lakes Community College.

The course will review the reasons to use goals and offer very useful and practical tips on helping individuals reach their full potential.  Ideas from the personal experiences of Steven R. Covey and Zig Ziegler will be used to help make this course beneficial and exciting.

This short course will focus on why goals should be set, how a goal should be used and what information we need to include in personal goals.  The goals the participants write and formulate will be relevant - and personalized - to each individual.

"Goal setting is important because it will help you look to the future and move toward what you want to become," said Dr. Scott Mickelsen, instructor of the workshop.

Dr. Mickelsen is an Instructor/Coordinator at Iowa Lakes Community College. He has extensive consultant and teaching background both in the United States and abroad.

To register for this course, please call the Continuing Education offices of Iowa Lakes Community College at 1-800-252-5664.  Registrants are asked to refer to course #38135N when signing up for class.  The class will start at 6 p.m. each evening.
