An area bank has donated to the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation to help fund future scholarships.

Farmers Trust and Savings Bank of Spencer recently pledged funding of $5,000 to the college foundation during the next five years.

Approximately 75 percent of Iowa Lakes’ students rely on some form of financial aid to achieve their educational goals. This gift will assist the scholarship program and is part of the college foundation’s “We Believe In Us 2004-2005 Annual Giving Program.”

Established in 1916, The Farmers Bank prides itself on being a strong participant in the local community donating yearly to worthy charities.
