WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ATHLETES NAMED TO ALL
REGION
Two Iowa Lakes
Community College women's basketball players recently earned All
Region XI honors.
Lacey Geitzenauer was
named to Second Team All Region for ICCAC (Iowa Community College
Athletic Conference) Region XI. Geitzenauer, a freshman, averaged
11 points a game, 4.6 rebounds each game and led the region in
free throw shooting - hitting more than 82 percent of her
attempts. Geitzenauer is from Lone Rock.
She will return to play
for the Laker Women next year.
"We should have a great
nucleus of players returning next year," said Brian Radtke, Head
Women's Basketball Coach. "Lacey came in and led the team as a
freshman and we expect big things from her next year."
Erin McFadden was named
Honorable Mention All Region for ICCAC Region XI. McFadden, a
sophomore, averaged more than 6 points, 4.7 assists, and had 2.1
steals per game. McFaden is from Panora.
"Erin improved greatly
in her sophomore year as a point guard and she definitely will be
missed from the team as a leader," said Radtke.
The Laker Women
finished the season with a 19-11 record, going into tournament
play seeded third.
